Parademons are the foot soldiers of Darkseid, patrol sectors of Apokolips, and are often the advance force deployed via Boom Tubes to invade planets. Their origins are a mystery but some say they are the subject of bioengineering and cloning. The impoverished humans known as Hunger Dogs, in the Armagetto District, are sources of human DNA. After being optimized to Darkseid's specifications, they are his perfect warrior; vicious, unmerciful, unintelligent and utterly loyal to him. Armed with laser spears and glider rockets, the Parademons make for a formidable army.
When Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Big Barda boomed to Apokolips in search of Kara Zor-El, they were surrounded by Parademons piloting serpentine tanks. The quartet made fast work of them and killed most of them in the process.
