During his partnership with S.T.A.R. Labs, Superman was given several suits to wear on cases that involved extreme environments. The Anti-Kryptonite Suit was built with a polycarbonate designed to withstand Kryptonite and the rigors of battle. On space missions, Superman wears a white space suit. For deep sea missions, Superman even has a scuba suit. However, it appears that each suit takes one weakness into account but not others and often are destroyed. The suits are coated with a special energy signature to make for easy tracking in case Superman is compromised by his opponents. This feature was used when Jax-Ur and Mala banished him to the Phantom Zone. Hamilton then used the Phantom Zone Projector to lock onto Superman and extract him.

Years later, some time during the expansion into the Justice League Unlimited, a fourth suit was created. Creator unknown, it acts as a space suit that allows Superman more freedom of movement and vision while still supplying him with oxygen. It is also closer to the color motif of his original costume, blue with the family crest on the chest. He used it in the mission to distract A.M.A.Z.O. while Lex Luthor was taken by Steel and Supergirl to a safe location.
