Paul Chen is a classmate of Damian Wayne and is the son of Kelly Chen, Vice President of Wayne Enterprises. She volunteered to help chaperon a field trip to Star-Labs. On the bus ride to Star, he played his video game. Lucky wanted a turn but Paul told him to back off because he always got his guy killed. During the first exhibit, Kelly Chen suddenly got a message from Wayne Enterprises informing her she won an all-expenses paid vacation to the Bahamas. She declared Bruce Wayne was the best boss ever, gathered up Paul, and took a taxi cab to the airport. They were unaware Batman's Lucky Batarang bounced off their airplane mid-flight then back down to Star-Labs. On April Fool's Day, Paul Chen broke open a pinata but there were bees in it. He and Lucky ran into a bouncy house. The bees popped it and the bouncy house took off. Batman went to save them rather than pursue Joker's hot air balloon.
