From the very beginning, Claire Selton's fire powers freaked everyone out, even her mom but her dad was never scared. As she got older, her powers got harder and harder to control. Claire's dad had a hard time keeping her safe. On one occasion, children upset her at a park and she lit it on fire. One day, the government came and took her away to be tested at first. They told Claire's dad they knew best and that they would help. It was a lie. Claire was taken to Project Cadmus, a top secret program dedicated to countering the powers of metahumans. Cadmus only wanted to turn her into an operative. She thought it was a nightmare. Art was the only thing in her life that wasn't terrible. One day, she met another child named Caitlin Snow who broke her out of her cell. They busted out of Cadmus and lived a glamorous life of crime as Volcana and Killer Frost. They robbed Gotham Jewelers and many other places.
During a heist at Gotham City Bank, Volcana blasted a hole through a wall for the duo's exit. They went their separate ways as planned but Frost back stabbed her, took her cut of the stolen money, and left her dying on the sidewalk. Batman found Volcana dying. The regenerative powers of the Lazarus Pit was her only option to save her life. She came to and struggled in Batman's arms then fell into the pit. He pulled her out alive and well, but a child with most of her memories lost. He consoled her and vowed to help her, raising her as one of his own. She became Bruce Wayne's newest ward. Past her guise of sarcasm and cynicism, deep down she grew fond of her new family and has found solace in her role as Damian's big sister.
In the fall, a week after she moved in, she finished up moving into her bedroom and asked Flame what it thought about the new digs. Claire agreed she was excited, too, but told him to watch the language. She admitted it still felt too good to be true. Little Batman furiously knocked then opened Claire's door, alerting her of a lava field emergency. Claire reminded him she had a rule about knocking, never. Little Batman remembered the rest, "because I never have a reason to bother you." He insisted they had to team up to catch Selina. She warned if he didn't leave her alone, there would be an even bigger emergency then lit up one of her hands. Bruce broke them up and asked Damian what they said about bothering Claire then asked Claire what he told her about fire balls in the house. Alfred pointed out there was no harm done. He had no idea the back of his suit jacket was on fire. Bruce put it out but it burned through his jacket and pants, revealing his underwear styled after the British flag. Alfred excused himself to check the rump roast in the oven. Claire claimed it wasn't her fault. Bruce told her to take it easy and they would talk about it later.
Claire turned a corner and kicked the edge of a carpet then Ra' al Ghul emerged from a sculpture and taunted her by calling her by her old name Volcana. Claire asserted she was just "Claire" then called him a talking fart cloud. Ra's conjured a flashback to when Claire fell in the Lazarus Pit then warned her not to be fooled by Bruce's caring father act, he was still Batman, scourge of evildoers everywhere. Ra's stated he took whatever he wanted, for centuries but now stuck in a ghostly form, he couldn't even enjoy a chocolate snack cake from Bruce's secret stash. He cursed Batman's name and his secret stash. Claire took a bite out of a chocolate snack cake and asked why he even needed food for since he was a ghost. Ra's told her that wasn't the point. He explained if Bruce nearly evicted him over a snack cake and wondered how long he would tolerate a supervillain with no family ties. She paused. Ra's advised her not to finish unpacking quite yet. He called her Volcana again, blew a raspberry, and disappeared into a horse painting.
Alicie Pennyworth arrived early to move in and accidentally set off the security system in the kitchen. Alicia ran off to hug her uncle Alfred and carried him off. Bruce cautioned her Alfred wasn't the same spry 70-year-old he used to be. Alicia didn't feel her phone fall out of her back pocket just as she got a text from King Tut. Bruce informed her game night was starting in three hours, 47 minutes, and 52 seconds. Claire saw the text and picked up the phone and hid it. Alicia asked Claire how she liked the manor so far. Claire merely answered with a "Mm" and left the kitchen. Alicia liked being kept in suspense. Damian complained she didn't want to hang with him either. Alicia believed most tweens she knew weren't into imaginative floor-based games and suggested aging it up a bit. Damian mussed up his hair and went to see Claire. Claire was mad he broke the no knocking rule again. Damian pointed out he didn't knock this time. She sighed.
Damian listed off some Floor's games he thought of but Claire had another idea and asked him if it was true Little Batman was good at catching bad guys. Damian humbly bragged he took out the Joker, Penguin, Bane, and Poison Ivy in one night. He conceded his dad was there, but he totally carried him that night. Claire tried to discretely tell him Alicia was a supervillain and they needed to take her down. Damian got excited and talked loudly. Claire told him Alicia was meeting with him at a warehouse in 20 minutes. Alicia happened to leave for a meeting and promised to be back at six o'clock. Damian wanted to tell Bruce but Claire wanted to prove she wasn't just a fiery nuisance and she was worth keeping around. She was surprised when Damian told her she already was worth keeping around. Damian took her to the Batcave for the first time. They took off in the Batmobile.
Claire and Flame observed all the mail boxes, lawn gnomes, lawn ornaments, and trash cans Little Batman was clipping then admitted she was surprised his dad let him use everything. Little Batman revealed he agreed to train him to be Batman as long as he trained responsibly and didn't do the exact thing he was doing right now. He thought it was worth the risk and showed her what the Batmobile could really do. Alicia knew the warehouse needed some work but believed they could get their E*Vil operation up and running in no time. King Tut thought it was be the perfect place for E*Vil. Claire and Little Batman thought they were saying "evil." Killer Moth, Copperhead, and Giganta arrived. Claire snapped some photographs. Before they could leave, King Tut spotted them up in the shadows. Little Batman threw out a smoke ball, causing Claire to drop her camera. Giganta picked it up. Claire put on a domino mask and made her way down to shoot Giganta in the foot with fire. She dropped the camera but it fell on Killer Moth's face.
Little Batman landed on his back. Moth told him to be careful because the suit was a rental. The camera fell down but Copperhead caught it. Claire ordered her to drop it and conjured a fire ball. She complied and stated she didn't want to fight a kid. Giganta grabbed Claire. Little Batman threw a bola around Giganta's leg. Moth got nauseous and barfed in his mask. Giganta fell but knocked out a pillar and the warehouse began to collapse. The supervillains fled the scene. Claire learned her camera was broken in the ordeal. Little Batman tried to tell her it wasn't that bad. Claire pointed out they leveled a building. He boasted to doing way worse but that didn't help her much. She brought up she was a supervillain only until a few months ago. Little Batman assured her he and Batman only wanted to help her. She calmed down but noticed King Tut was texting Alicia about the incident and he had a photo of her in action. Little Batman still wanted to tell Batman what happened but Claire revealed to him that the only thing she absolutely remembered from her past life was to never trust anyone.
Little Batman went along with her and noted they just had to expose Alicia before that picture got out. Claire didn't see how unless they could somehow magically get her to confess. Ra's al Ghul came to Little Batman's mind immediately. Ra's feigned shock that Damian asked him to defy Bruce's strict prohibition of dark magic to prove Alicia was a villain (and possibly tear his soul apart). He patted Damian on the head and quickly agreed to help his grandson. Ra's conjured the deadly Sphere of Skaratata. Neither Damian nor Claire could say "Skaratata" right. Ra's told them whoever lies while holding the sphere will draw the wrath of the demon inside it. Claire quickly got an idea to get Bruce to let them play a game with the sphere and catch Alicia in a lie. Ra's proclaimed an eternity of suffering would be hers. Damian was unsure about unleashing an evil demon's wrath. Game night was starting. Claire asked Damian for his help. He relented. Ra's laughed evilly but stopped told them to say Alfred gave them the sphere if they got caught with it.
They tried to suggest using the sphere but Bruce stuck to his plan. During basketball. Alfred, Selina, and Alicia felt bad at the sight of Damian and Claire so listless. Alicia got Bruce's attention and asked him to deviate from his plan a little just this once. Bruce felt bad and asked the kids what they were choosing next to play. Claire perked up and picked hot potato with the sphere. Bruce pointed out the house had a full arcade. Claire called it a special version of hot potato and instructed them that when someone throws it, then asks a question, the person who catches it has to answer it. Claire demonstrated by tossing the sphere to Alicia and asking her where she went in the afternoon. Alicia answered she went to work and nothing happened. She threw the sphere to Damian and asked him what his favorite ice cream was. Damian listed birthday cake and cookie dough then paused and threw the sphere back and asked what her work was. Alicia revealed she was a counselor. Nothing happened.
Alicia threw it to Alfred and asked him who his favorite niece was. Claire dove in front of Alfred, caught the sphere, and asked what being a counselor had to do with King Tut. Bruce told Claire it was Alfred's turn. Alicia told him it was cool and revealed she ran a counseling group named "E*VIL," to help ex-supervillains become upstanding citizens. She boasted coming up with "E" for "ex" and "VIL" for "villains." She told them she just bought them a building to fix up into a home. Damian and Claire exchanged looks and he asked her clarify she wasn't a supervillain. Alicia replied "no" and nothing happened. Alicia threw it to Damian and asked him who he would rather be, Batman or Superman. Bruce wanted to know what was really going on. Before Claire would respond, Damian lied he thought Alicia was a bad guy, told his friend Little Batman who got into a fight that may have led to some light property damage. Damian lied he acted alone except with Little Batman. Skaratata emerged from the sphere and demanded the fibber. Bruce told Alicia this was why they don't deviate from the plan. Alicia left the room with Alfred and Selina to call for help.
Bruce and Damian suited up but the latter was benched. Skaratata levitated everything in the room, including the room. Claire pointed out Damian lied for her. He brushed off the trouble he got into. Skaratata slammed Batman repeatedly. Damian clarified it might be big trouble. Batman punched Skaratata's face and escaped his grip then dodged his fire balls. Damian told Claire there were more important things than being Batman. Claire asked her what was more important. Damian replied getting her to trust him. She asked why that was so important. Batman continued dodging the flames shot at him. Damian told her that's what families do. She hugged him. Batman pulled back on one of Skaratata's tusks. Claire stated he wasn't lifting her never knock rule. Damian still had no idea what that rule meant. Claire vowed to come clean with Bruce. Batman was thrown into the wall of the floating floor they were on and told her she just did. He fired a grapnel line, scooped them up, and landed on a couch telling her she was part of the family now and wasn't going anywhere but they were both in huge trouble.
Damian told him they got the sphere from Ra's. Batman called out to him. Ra's emerged from a cushion pretending surprise at the mayhem Alfred unleashed. Batman told him the demon wanted to take his grandson to the underworld. Ra's was aghast and conjured a written spell they needed to place on Skaratata's forehead while opening his imprisoning sphere. Damian volunteered himself and Claire to put the spell on. Batman volunteered himself and Ra's to open the sphere. Claire asked Damian if he still wanted to play Floor is Lava and melted the floor under Skaratata. He became immobilized. Damian did his part then Skaratata was pulled back into the sphere. The room was restored but it was a giant mess. Ra's called out to Alfred. Batman told Damian he was great. Claire presumed she should pack her bags. Batman told her to get in and hugged her, too. The family cleaned up. Claire gave Alicia her phone back and apologized for thinking she was evil. Alicia accepted it and told her she knew feeling like an outsider could make someone do some pretty stupid stuff but realized Claire still didn't trust her. Claire declared that was her thing and not to take it personally. Alicia noted she loved a challenge. They played paper wad basketball.
On the eve of a field trip to Star-Labs, Bruce retrieved Damian's Deputy Bow-Wow doll from the attic but its recorded lines woke up Claire Selton and Alicia Pennyworth. Bruce attempted to explain his motives despite their skepticism and realized they went back to their bedrooms before he was done. Flame posed for Claire. She told it to stop smiling while she painted. Alicia tried to make small talk then excused herself. Claire agreed with Flame she wasn't that bad but she was just trying so hard to fit in. Alicia tried in vain to befriend Selina. Alfred called it the "Pennyworth Tenacity" and noted they never gave up, especially if they knew someone was worth it. Claire nervously drank her drink. Claire later went to Alicia's bedroom and told her not everyone was as open about their feelings as she was and some cats and people show affection in different ways like insults. Alicia perked up. Claire told her not to try so hard. That night, Flame lured Selina into Alicia's room then vanished. Selina settled on the bed with the sleeping Alicia. Claire carefully closed the door.
Claire finished a painting all-nighter and went to sleep but was immediately woken up by Damian. He presented a list of do's and don'ts he complied from doing the don'ts in past Go To Work With a Grown Up Day. She burnt it to ashes and told him a new don't, "don't wake me up when I'm trying to sleep in." Damian wanted to tell the best part: Bruce's office chair. Claire was way too tired to hear it. It was custom built for CEOs and has standard heating and massage capabilities as well as a sensor that mathematically forms to one's butt. Damian told her he sat on it once and never felt true comfort since. Bruce was sad he wasn't taking Damian to work for Go To Work With a Grown Up Day but was excited to be bringing Claire. He believed she would get a lot out of it and recalled one of his fondest memories was the day his dad took him to his office when he was eight. He revealed it really made an impression on him and wanted to do the same for Claire. Alicia and Alfred stared at him. Alicia informed Bruce impressing tweens wasn't easy then warned him not to be surprised if she's not blown away by board meetings, contract negotiations, and paper pushing.
In his office, Bruce showed Claire a release form that allowed sales to fold into the company's revenue streams adjacent to their clients. He signed off on it and noted his team worked tirelessly to push it through. He remembered a contract that pertained to sustainable growth. As he went on about expanding and diversifying your portfolio, a sleep Claire noticed the office chair and was amazed by the sheepskin exterior, bespoke footrest, and fully customizable comfort. Bruce asked if she was listening or not. She asked him what would disappoint him more: her not listening to him or her lying to him. He chose lying. She admitted he was not listening to him. Bruce realized Alicia was right and Claire would not be easily impressed. Claire realized Damian was right and the chair was incredibly plush. Bruce tried to quickly think of a way to impress her and wished he knew what she was thinking. Claire could only think about the chair. Bruce told himself to have patience and he would find a way to impress her. Claire told herself to have patience and she would find a way to get her booty into that chair.
Bruce presented his security feed to Claire and pointed out the R&D department, the communications lab, the warehouse, and a helicopter pad. She keyed in on a sign in the warehouse stating minors weren't allowed and came up with a scheme. She lied the warehouse sounded impressive. Bruce was surprised but remembered kids weren't allowed. Claire offered to watch him from his office through the camera. He stated he would do anything for Claire and told her to have a seat on his chair but stopped her upon realizing he would get special treatment if he tried to work in the warehouse so he donned a Matches Malone disguise he had handy in a desk drawer. He promised to impress her and left. She feel asleep on the chair. Damian called Claire to ask her to access Bruce's computer. Claire lied she was busy working. Damian called in the IOU for telling Bruce he set his beard on fire. Claire relented. Damian asked her to start by digging up anything she could on Stella Tetch. Bruce waved at the camera. Claire snickered but noticed the name "Ansen Goodberry" on the office door and briefly wondered why the name sounded familiar then went back to sleep.
Officially suspicious, Bruce went to a camera and told Claire something fishy was going on and went dark. He punched out the camera. Claire was startled awake and remembered to do the search on Sad Hatter. Claire called Damian and told him Mad Hatter and an unknown accomplice got into trouble two nights ago. She added police were looking for someone named "S. Tetch" as a possible suspect. She hung up and texted the details. Claire noticed the warehouse camera was out and checked Goodberry's contact information. A photo and 800-555-0199 number came up. She suddenly remembered breaking into a vault with Goodberry when she was still Volcana. Claire called Bruce's phone but got no answer. Bruce used a Swiss Army Knife to break into Goodberry's office. He saw mud on the phone and found numerous criminal paraphernalia in cabinet drawers. Claire left a voicemail telling Bruce Ansen Goodberry's real name was Todd Russell who was Clayface. Claire got Bruce's voicemail again and conceded she would have to get off the chair.
The power went out in the whole building. Claire contemplated being able to do 104 floors to Flame's dismay. Little Batman got a call from an out-of-breath Claire saying something about a warehouse and Clayface. Clayface was about to flee the warehouse and told Batman he was fired. Claire emerged from the stairwell and blasted him with flames, countering he was the one who was fired. Clayface was baked solid. Little Batman told Claire how cool she was. Batman called it an impressive day at the office and as he sat, the office chair came to him. Claire was impressed. Batman thought it was funny that after all that happened, the chair is what impressed her the most. Claire asked him if it never occurred to him she was already pretty impressed he let her into his family. Batman had the chair extend itself horizontally so Claire could sit, too. Little Batman jumped in between them and they hugged. Batman didn't think it could get any better. Claire countered it can always get better and she activated the massage mode.
For family movie night, Damian was aghast the only movie he could see was "A Baby Movie" but Claire elected to go with him. Bruce reminded Claire not to use her phone during the movie. She rolled her eyes and told he would 'totally' shut it off. They did a hand stack for family movie night, but had to prompt Claire, and then they dispersed to go watch their movies. Damian couldn't believe he wasn't allowed to see a scary movie despite defeating the likes of Joker, Bane, and Poison Ivy. Claire went to charge her phone but realized too late someone jammed gum in both outlets. She watched in horror as her phone died and shut off. Damian tried to console Claire, who collapsed on the floor. Damian became worried about Claire. Claire told her phone repeatedly to turn on. She wondered why the babies kept giggling then told Damian they had to leave and suggested sneaking into Blood Rot. Damian pointed out that was a crime. He admitted the movie had some funny parts.
Claire and Damian left the movie laughing and bringing up the funny parts. Two girls in the lobby were alarmed by their impressions. Claire and Damian made a pinkie swear pact to never tell anyone they liked that movie and take that secret to the grave with them. They were surprised to see Alfred leaving his movie with Commissioner Gordon. Gordon told himself to keep it together. Before Claire could finish asking him how the movie was, he started crying again. Damian suggested taking him to the baby movie. Alicia drove Alfred, Claire, and Damian home. She confirmed Bruce told her he had a work emergency. He asked her if he said anything else. Claire wondered why the babies didn't just tell the Wumplets that they had the Giggle Gem and wrote it off as a major plot hole. Alicia told her sometimes friends keep secrets. Alfred noted Phillipe 'Le Pain wrestled over sharing his coveted baguette recipe with Jaques. He and Claire agreed that was noice. Alfred added when Phillipe finally did open up, Jaques was moved by the trust his friend showed him because it took courage to lay his secret bare, even to his closest companion. Damian asked Alicia if she agreed sharing secrets brought friends closer.
Damian got a signal from Batman and he asked Alicia to drop him off at the old drive-in where Bruce thinks Damian left his bat after they played baseball there. Claire told him not to wink wink so much and realized he told Alicia he's Batman to their dismay. Damian claimed she was family and people they care about deserve to know the truth. Alicia couldn't take anymore and did a hard brake, then told them she was the mysterious Bright figure seen searching Wayne Enterprises warehouses. Bright, Little Batman, and Claire arrived just in time. Claire told Batman not to get used to her helping. Little Batman celebrated prematurely after knocking Killer Croc out. Claire blasted Mad Hatter and yelled at Little Batman to pay attention. Claire baked Clayface solid then Bright kicked his head off. Claire insisted she was going to finish him off. Movie night resumed at Wayne Manor. Alfred has his own surprise and played "La Mousse Pousse Lentement" (or "The Moss Grows Slowly") then offered everyone baguettes.
Claire Selton imagined herself walking into her art class at Gotham City Middle School with her self-portrait and flooring everyone so much, a riot started. Flame was skeptical. Claire relented the rioting was maybe too much. She looked at her painting and knew something was missing. She inflamed her brush, dipped, and painted, adding bristles to signify new life. She went to the kitchen for breakfast. Bruce blurted out the punchline to Damian's joke first by mistake. Alfred worried coffee would stunt Claire's growth and gave her a flask filled with hot cocoa instead. She remarked a pound of sugar mixed with chocolate was cool and declared she now had diabetes. Alfred mused no good deed goes unpunished. Bruce noticed Claire's "only sheep comply" shirt and recited Article 3.7 of the school dress code prohibits attire with any messaging whatsoever. Claire called it self-expression and claimed nobody cared about those school rules. Bruce stated he cared and looked at all of Claire's slips for dress code violations on the refrigerator. He told her the rules matter and reminded her she got six discipline slips this month so far.
Alicia thought her shirt was cool and revealed she was wearing one, too. Claire noticed and conceded, promising to go change. Bruce told her he understood self-expression was important then reminded her they all would get a chance to express themselves at family karaoke night. She wasn't looking forward to it. Bruce and Damian reminded her of Article 5.1, "Hats are not to be worn indoors." They high-fived. Claire thought he was ruining Damian. Bruce finally noticed Claire was holding a painting. She told him it was a self-portrait. Bruce studied it. He finally asked if that was hair. She slapped his hand away in frustration and stomped off. Claire showed up to her art class late and meekly presented her self-portrait. Mrs. Trudeaux that she saw hair, called it gross, and gave it a C-plus. She was distraught. A classmate "complimented" Claire on her grade then revealed her dad printed out her picture on a canvas and she got an A. Claire pretended to be interested in seeing it. She presented it and Claire punched a hole through it.
Claire left for the principal's office before Trudeaux could finish her sentence. She sat at the bus top outside the middle school holding a slip stating she violated Article 7.2, "Art punching." She blamed herself for thinking anyone could understand her art but felt especially let down that Bruce didn't or wasn't even trying. She brushed it off and thought it was dumb to think the painting would change anything then chucked into a trash bin. A woman recognized Claire as Volcana. Claire responded she used to be. She knew it, from recognizing her art, and recalled hearing she was a kid again but was surprised she really was a kid again. She looked at the painting and was relieved the sophistication and maturity in her art was still intact. She identified the burnt bristles were meant to suggest destruction is also a form of creation. Claire was surprised she understood the meaning. The woman was surprised she didn't remember anything from being Volcana either and told her she was Caitlin Snow, a.k.a. Killer Frost.
Claire remembered the two of them robbing Gotham Jewelers once. Snow revealed she also went straight. Claire admitted trying to remembers stuff from her 40s was like trying remember stuff from when you were 12. Snow told her Volcana and Killer Frost were like family, sisters in crime and in art. Claire seemed to recall that. Snow told her she and her partners, Ophelia and Poetry, were curating a brand new exhibit at the Gotham Museum, "It's A Crime! Misunderstood Artists Through the Ages" and offered to introduce her to them, hinting they were always looking for young artists to feature. Claire took her card but remembered family karaoke night. Snow recalled she hated karaoke but told her if she changed her mind, the address to the coffee shop they were meeting at was on the back of the card. During karaoke night, everyone was stunned by Man-Bat's superb opera singing. Alfred checked the roster and announced a duet from Damian and Claire was next. Claire had no idea she was in one. Damian revealed he signed them up and elected to sing the high part while she sang the low part. She passed.
Damian and Bruce tried to get her excited to do it. Man-Bat and Ra's joined in. Alicia suggested letting her watch instead. Claire agreed and stood up but the discipline slip she got that day fell out of a pocket. Bruce was shocked. Claire tried to explain her classmate's dad made the art but Bruce wasn't hearing it. Alicia tried to tell Bruce to listen to her but Claire snapped he didn't need to listen since he already knew everything. She stormed off to her bedroom. She vented about nobody understanding her and decided to meet up with Snow and her partners. Claire went to the Bleacker Street Station in Downtown to take the train. Damian slid into the train at the last second claiming to be saving her butt before Bruce noticed she was gone. He remembered to tell her she forgot to turn off the tracking app on her phone. She thought she did but Damian revealed there was a secret back-up bat-tracking app. He input the passwords 9-37-19, 10-23-75, and 12-7-31. Claire appreciated it but told him he couldn't come with her. Damian tried to pet Flame then was amazed they were going under the river but found it just a little scary.
Damian looked at Claire's portfolio and thought it was amazing, thinking she was way better a painter than Bruce. She was surprised he painted. Damian clarified he kinda did and revealed he was taking a class called "Fathers Trying To Connect With Their Daughters Through Paint 101" but he was flunking. One painting got his attention but Claire got defensive. She told him some of her past was hard to talk about. Damian thought she meant her amnesia. Claire revealed being a kid was the only thing she could remember. Damian told her he understood and she didn't have to tell him then progressively made a cuter and cuter expression until she caved. She talked about having powers from birth, everyone being scared of her except her dad, and being taken in by Project Cadmus, a top secret program dedicated to countering the powers of metahumans. Damian revealed Bruce kept her encrypted website bookmarked on the Bat-Computer. Damian offered her a piece of candy to cheer her up. Claire accepted it and ended her story, telling him they busted out of Cadmus and lived a glamorous life of crime as Volcana.
The candy tasted off and she asked what flavor it was. Damian told her it was pocket lint. She called him a dork but still wanted to meet with Snow because she thought it was her second chance for her artistic aspirations. Damian thought she was right and told her she deserved it. Claire and Damian reached Espress-Yo-Luck Coffee Ship and saw Snow inside with her partners. Damian promised to stay out of her away and sat on the other side of the shop. Ophelia laid it on thick as she assessed Claire's portfolio, calling her intensity captivating all five of her senses. Poetry agreed and noted it had a rebellious transcendence. Snow told them she was one of them. Ophelia saw it was time for them to do a final walkthrough before they signed the papers the next day. Poetry invited Claire to join them. Snow agreed and she could help with last minute additions. Snow was happy to have Claire back, just like the fire and ice days. Damian ran out of the shop and told Claire to wait. Claire lied she just met him on the train and tried to help him because he was lost.
Once there was enough distance, Damian told Claire that Snow was Killer Frost but she knew that already. She didn't believe Snow was up to some villainous scheme and told him she was reformed like her and for once she was doing something she wanted to do. She got into Snow's Beetle and they drove to Gotham Museum. While Claire was distracted with denying a call from Damian, Snow froze the lock on the front doors. Claire was amazed. Snow stated it held the most important collection of art in Gotham but it needed an original piece by Claire Selton. Claire was pleased but noticed Poetry and Ophelia stealing art. Snow fessed up and revealed they were starting a new girl gang and wanted Volcana to join. They changed into their supervillain personas Cyclone, Rumbler, and Killer Frost. Claire hesitated. Frost told her they needed their fire to complete the theme of elements then walked to a vault that held the most valuable collection of art in Gotham but the door was composed of a tungsten alloy that only melts at temperatures over 3,000 degrees. Claire realized she was the only one capable of that.
Frost promised things would go back like how it used to be, the ol' fire and ice, when they were like family. She saw the art was donated by the Wayne family. Claire told them she wasn't like that anymore. Cyclone threw a tornado at her but she propelled herself over it and Frost froze her. Claire tried to melt her way out but Cyclone channeled the flame at the vault door. Little Batman intervened. Claire told him to run. Little Batman stated that's not what family was and every citizen of Gotham is a family to Batman. Frost stated she was from Central City and pinned him to a wall. Batman and Bright arrived. Bright blasted Frost then partially broke Claire's ice prison off. Rumbler broke off from Batman and bear hugged Bright. Frost held an icicle to Little Batman and told Batman to stand down. The vault door finally broke down. Cyclone asked Batman if he was going to save the art or his friends. Batman replied both then presented his terrible painting of clouds he made for Claire. Frost, Cyclone, and Rumbler were horrified.
Batman, Little Batman, and Bright turned the tide. Frost took Claire into the vault and sealed the hole in the door with ice. Frost tried to apologize for not telling her the plan from the start but Claire refused to go along. Frost told her to just blast a hole so they could get out. Those words stirred Claire's memory and she remembered Frost backstabbed her at the bank job and was the one who left her near death, just to take her cut of the heist for herself. Claire's fire easily neutralized Frost's ice and thanked her for the second chance at life but she wasn't going to ruin it for herself or her family. Claire blasted Frost through the vault door. Everyone tried their hand at painting the next day. Claire goofed on Bruce as he hesitated. Bruce wanted to see hers but she claimed it wasn't finished. Bruce promised to try harder to pretend he understood it. He got all choked up. It was a painting of Bruce holding a flame in his arms lovingly.
Damian needed a partner in the GokiFluff theft case. Claire passed. Selina passed. He tried Claire again but she turned him down again. Ra's talked of boiling their prey alive. Damian tried Claire again but she told him to get lost. Bruce pleaded with Claire. She agreed to keep an eye on Damian and Man-Bat. Bruce told her he owed her one. She asked for his watch and held her hand out. Little Batman waited for Man-Bat on a roof in the city but he was late. Claire specified he was an hour and 45 minutes late. Little Batman was surprised to see her. Claire indicated she was there for her own amusement and even brought popcorn. A car alarm put Man-Bat in a frenzied state. He pushed cars and people aside. Little Batman fired his grapnel line. Claire held him down. The line snapped and Man-Bat hit an active power line. Man-Bat explained to them that high-pitched sounds made bats go "cuckoo bananas."
They overheard a boy telling his friends that City Comics just got a shipment of Goki Cards. Little Batman was game to go on stake out. Man-Bat used his hearing and told them it was too late, City Comics was being robbed. He added the owner was screaming about it and barricading the door but the thief smashed the window and got out. Back at the manor, Damian bumped into Claire and announced Batman was re-partnering up with him. Claire thought he was partners with Dr. Langstrom. Little Batman remembered but felt they didn't need to be anymore and Langstrom wasn't cut out for the superhero stuff and didn't want him to get hurt again. They went to the attic but found out Man-Bat and his Gubbub card were gone. Man-Bat was gone but he left a note, saying he needed to prove he was a great partner. The note was unfinished because he saw a raisin that looked like Alfred. Claire ate it. Little Batman wanted to make it right and go after Man-Bat. Claire agreed to try to stall Bruce. Ra's phased through the floor and intimated he would assist her in obstructing the Batman. She found him kind of creepy.
Batman wondered where Damian went. Claire and Ra's tried to stall him. Ra's asked if that was a new Bat-computer. He was immediately suspicious of them and asked if they saw Damian. Claire joked according to her watch, too many times. Ra's offered to do magic for them and took out some cards. Bruce wanted to know where Damian was. Man-Bat and Little Batman defeated Toyman and his giant Gubbub robot. Batman told them they crushed it and told them to bring it in. Claire, Ra's, and Alicia observed from above. Ra's suggested boiling Toyman. Bruce reminded Damian and Claire it was going to be the first Wayne family interview for the both of them. He adjusted Claire's tie and informed them Vicki Vale will want to do one-on-one interviews. He advised them to give the world an informal, off-the-cuff sense of who they were then wanted ot rehearse the answers he gave them. Damian read the answer off his palm, saying his interests included being an upstanding citizen, spending time with family, and maintaining a strong GPA at school. He mispronounced "GPA" as "gippa" and Bruce suggested not looking at this palm and told him it was GPA.
Claire felt they should decide how the world sees them. Bruce replied they can and gave her the choice of what she wanted to play on the violin. She asked to play thrash metal. Bruce suggested Paganini. Claire replied Paga-nuh-uh. Alfred admitted he thought she was going to burn the violin but was amused he burnt Bruce with her words. Bruce revealed there hasn't even been a Wayne family to interview since he was a kid. He remembered back then, his parents had everything under control. Not a single hair was out of place. They made sure everything was perfect. He felt it was his turn to make sure this day was perfect for them. Damain was touched. Claire replied blegh. Alicia brought E*Vil to crash at the manor. Claire played the violin for the camera but Killer Moth entered the frame with a guitar and rocked it. Claire joined him and thrashed her head around. Bruce pretended to love it.
Skaratata was accidentally released by King Tut. Claire and Damian helped cause a distraction and attacked a foot while Bruce slipped away to suit up. Skaratata was recaptured with a back up sphere. Everyone gathered to watch Vicki's interview on the news. It was a montage. Ra's was irritated it was completely out of context and couldn't believe Vicki said "Daddio," too. Vicki concluded the Wayne family had many things going for them, but perfection wasn't one of them. Claire loved it and kept replaying Bruce prying Selina off his face. Bruce looked around and thought it looked pretty perfect to him. During a battle, Mr. Freeze froze Batman, Bright, and Little Batman in their tracks. He noticed they weren't reacting like he thought they would. Little Batman hinted they were turning up the heat. Claire jumped in through a window, blasted goons, and unleashed enough heat to engulf the room in steam. Little Batman knocked Freeze out. She told him not to call her Volcana and she was not a superhero. Batman told them to tie up Freeze and the goons while he and Bright did a final sweep. Damian did a cannonball into the in-door pool. He counted three flips but Claire told him Alfred still held the record with five on his last turn. Ra's demonstrated infinite somersaults. Alfred told Alicia and Bruce quietly that the updates to the tracker worked and they had the AntiGlow's precise location. Claire noticed them talking. The Bat-signal appeared in the sky. Bruce, Damian, Claire, and Alicia ran to the Batphone. Bruce answered the Batphone as Batman and was apprised by Gordon of a museum heist. King Tut, while under the mind control of the Antiglow, broke into the Gotham Museum and stole King Tutankhamen's mummified feline companion. He was taken to the Batcave and restored to normal.
Vicki Vale reported E*vil had gone rogue. Killer Moth robbed Gotham City Bank. Little Batman wanted to help E*Vil. Claire pointed out they were all over Gotham and with the mind control, they were actually effective criminals. Batman decided they would have to split-up into two teams. Little Batman called dad. Claire imitated him in mockery. Batman felt it was time for him to lead his own team. Little Batman and Claire were both surprised. He gave Little Batman the lead on Alpha Team with Tut and Volcana. Ra's was pleased. He gave Little Batman the Bat-Lightwave Blocker for countering the effects of the hypnosis. He thanked Batman for trusting him. Claire wanted to know if she could trade for Man-Bat. Claire told Little Batman he was sounding like a flight attendant. They jumped off the roof. Tut told them he would meet them down there and went back into the building. He lost his robe again and a breeze carried it away to his dismay. Sad Hatter robbed a vintage record store. Claire blocked her escape with a wall of flames. She turned around and was exposed to the Bat-Lightwave Blocker. She was turned back to normal but was naturally confused.
Little Batman hung from Giganta's hair while Claire shot up a fireball to distract her. Little Batman used the Bat-Lightwave Blocker on her. Killer Moth circled around a traffic light. Claire simply generated a flame to bring Moth to them and Little Batman used the Bat-Lightwave Blocker. Little Batman pounced on Copperhead in a Gotham Jewelers and used the Bat-Lightwave Blocker. He told her she was safe now. She thanked him then told him he could get off her stomach now. E*Vil was reunited outside. Little Batman told Claire she would make a pretty good superhero. She wanted him to let it go because powers doesn't mean hero. He believed she had the hero's heart and she just had to follow it. She blushed but still hated being called a superhero. Vicki Vale was on the scene. Little Batman issued a statement that E*Vil was under mind control and was completely innocent all along. Claire tried to walk away. Vicki asked who was behind it. Claire stated she was not a superhero and walked away.
Little Batman knew Vicki was right and they had to find the culprit next. Selina played with a cat tower Little Batman was using to be tall enough to steer the Batmobile. Claire was sure Batman was on it already. Little Batman thought Team Alpha did a great job but also thought it was weird Team Bravo didn't catch a single E*Vil member. He began to think they were busy with something else. Claire remarked he sounded like his dad but he didn't take it as an insult. He cleared his throat and called it an interesting observation. Claire recalled Bruce was acting secretive with Alfred earlier. Little Batman wondered about what since his birthday was ten months way, and they don't start planning until the six month mark. He was not content with the secret staying secret. Little Batman and Claire were behind Alfred in the Batcave as he guided Batman to the AntiGlow. He hid the screen and apologized, he was not at liberty to divulge what was about to be finished up. Little Batman told him he gave him no other choice. Claire nodded in approval. Little Batman took his cowl off and presented the cute face. Alfred shouted no in agony.
Batman ran a diagnostic scan on the AntiGlow but Damian and Claire were in the Batcave, too. Bright and Alfred gestured to him to stop lying. Bruce realized Alfred told Damian and Claire about the AntiGlow. He implored Damian to be mad and yell at him. Damian didn't say word and walked away. The next morning, Damian was absent from breakfast. Batman was about to leave to look for Damian but the diagnostic completed and confirmed the AntiGlow they had was a fake. Batman shielded Alicia and Claire as it blew up. Joker broadcast himself and declared it would be the last April Fools' they would ever have. He revealed he would be serving Gotham a 24-hour Prank-A-Thon. Joker presented his co-host and son, Joker Jr. Batman, Claire, Selina, and Alicia were horrified to see Damian now dressed up as Joker.
