As part of the deeper regions of space, Upscan space is often subject to unique scientific phenomena. One one occassion, a space storm of unprecendented power appeared. The Dominators and later, the Legion of Superheroes investigated. While the Dominators wanted to use the storm for a power source, the Legion discovered it was Lightning Lad's twin, Ayla, and restored her to her original state.
