0.1 to 10 micrometers in size, nanites are artificial, non-organic nanorobots that are used to carry out micro or macroscale operations that can't otherwise be preformed. They were originally intended for medical use but have since been given broad military applications. Operating in utility fogs, the nanites tend to look like a swarm of locusts.
In the 31st century, Dr. Londo utilized nanites as a method of mind control. Implanted in the amygdala of the brain, he could link a person to his mental commands. He secretly implanted nanites in his estranged son, Timber Wolf and attempted to manipulate him into joining his alliance with Imperiex. The nanites caused what Timber Wolf thought were just headaches and black outs from his time as Dr. Londo's experiment. Instead, the nanites took control and instigated a super agitated state that transformed him into a savage beast again. The nanites were later destroyed but Londo escaped.
