The Lamentation Pentacle is a talisman that contains black magic. When Mordru was banished and stripped of his power on Zerox, he left in search of mystical objects that would empower him. His search ended when he acquired the Lamentation Pentacle. He returned to Zerox to exact his revenge on the High Council. With the object, he could then drain magic from the Council and replace what was taken. The Legion of Superheroes intervened and destroyed the Pentacle.
