Interlac is the official language of the United Planets, taught in schools across the system, and is considered the most common form of communication between races that belong to the United Planets. It corresponds to the 26 letter Latin alphabet and Base Ten numbering system of the planet Earth. The origins of Interlac are purely mathematical and thus, can serve as a mode of first contact between two species until a better method of communication can be adopted.
Written Interlac is present in the United Planets system, as well. From street signs to billboards to identification, Interlac is everywhere and generally accepted.
