The Sapphire Gem channels the violet energy of the Zamarons in the same way the Power Rings channel the green energy of the Green Lantern Corps. However, its influence is much stronger and can subvert its user's personality by focusing and magnifying matters of the heart. While in possession of Carol Ferris, it is embedded in her abdomen. Removing the gem turns Ferris back to normal.
