Bruce Wayne had the Metropolis branch of Wayne Tech work on a new device for Batman named the Bat-Radia. It is designed to jam electromagnetic signals. Sophia, Joker's step-daughter, contributed to the project as part of her summer internship. After Lena Luthor shrank the city, Wayne came up with an idea to use the Bat-Radia to depower the Skull Ship's cloaking device. The Batcomputer activated the Wayne satellites' tractor beams and pulled the ship down to Earth's atmosphere to allow for Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Sharon Quinzel, and Lex Luthor to fly to it in the Batplane. Lois Lane took delight in Wayne keeping the Bat-Radia clipped to his belt and jokingly asked if he had his inhaler on there, too. She circled back and jokingly asked if he was wearing tube socks and sandals, too. Joker congratulated her on the fantastic punch up. The trio made it to Wayne Tower. Wayne proclaimed the Bat-Radia was "Bat-activated." Lane thought that sounded so dorky. Joker agreed and teased he was lucky Batman was not around to hear that.

Wayne was forced to throw the Bat-Radia off the tower. It soon exploed. He revealed there was a glitch in it where it could overpower all electronics in the radius and blow them out. An electromagnetic pulse left Metropolis in the dark. He put the blame on Sophia, a 16-year-old teenager, and Joker took offense. Lois Lane got an idea to use Morse Code to contact Superman and get him to return to Earth and help.
