The Automaton Sentry is a drone that Coluians dispatches several to a planet to collect data and perform analysis. They made Metropolis nearly perfect performing any and every task for its residents. They effectively rendered Superman useless and he could not respond to an emergency that a Sentry already took care of. In reality, they were being controlled by Brainiac who was using them to make Metropolis 100% by his standards. After Floronic Man was killed, several Sentries surrounded Harley and Ivy, transformed, and teleported them into a holding cell aboard the Skull Ship. After realizing Koko had been dead for centuries and he had gone insane, Vril Dox decided to destroy Metropolis and start anew to rectify his mistakes. The drones began vaporizing buildings. They were met with resistance by Bane at the Dutch Immersion School and rated him a high level threat. Bane threw a stool, desks, and tables at them. Poison Ivy joined the battle mostly to find Frankette. The debris combined into one large drone. Bane traded blows with it then Ivy shoved it outside but the building collapsed. The large drone pinned Bane, Ivy, and Shaun Shark. Lena Luthor agreed to Harley Quinn's deal and deactivated all drones except for at least two that now tend to her.

The Sentries tasked with retrieving Lex Luthor from Stryker's Island Penitentiary failed to locate him so Lena Luthor tasked all the sentries with finding him. They hounded every person in the city about where he was and vaporized them and buildings. Bruce Wayne and the Joker destroyed numerous Sentries but the latter just wanted the former's signature for Sophia's internship time card. The giant combined Sentry stopped Lois Lane's car and demanded Luthor. She exclaimed she didn't know and wanted to be let go. Wayne leaped over the drone onto her hood and helped her out then leaped off as the Sentry cleaved the car in two with a laser. Wayne decided they needed to head to Wayne Tower next. Sentries entered the Daily Planet in search of Luthor. Clayface, disguised as Perry White, offered a monologue instead and quoted Richard III. It activated its laser cannon. Clayface offered Bane instead. Bane called him a Judas. The Sentry moved the desk and threw Clayface onto Bane and prepared to shoot them both. Lois Lane decked it but recoiled in pain, not getting how the others could punch them like nothing. While Lane sent out a Morse code message to Superman in space, Bane stomped the last one.
