Super Squirrels are a new, mutated annoyance in the post-New Gotham era of Gotham City. They are bigger, muscular squirrels. After Commissioner Gordon failed to trap Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy at Arkham Asylum, he was read the riot act by the Mayor at City Hall. To add insult to injury, Two-Face betrayed him and became the Mayor's campaign manager. Gordon threw Two-Face's campaign button out the window. It landed on a Super Squirrel's head. It dropped its nut and ended up on top of a male pedestrian's head in a fury. The pedestrian fell on a toxic puddle in a crosswalk and died but came back as a ghost, spooking a kid driving a bus and causing it to flip near construction materials set up by a manhole and as a result a pipe was launched into City Hall and fatally impaled the Mayor. On Valentine's Day, a Super Squirrel was hit by Poison Ivy's pheromone and had sex with a squirrel.
