Isamot Kol was a Lizarkon living on Thanagar. He was enlisted to the imperial army in a battle against Rann. When his squadron was surrounded, Kol's commander surrendered. In disgust, Kol killed him and led his men to victory. However, the Thanagarians viewed Kol's actions as treason and ordered his execution in a prison camp built in Ranagar City. At the moment of his execution, a Green Power Ring saved his life and chose him. Kol accepted and became Green Lantern of Space Sector 2682.
