Duck Dodgers

Back to Heroes Main > Duck Dodgers

Real Identity: Captain Duck Edgar Dumas Aloysius Dodgers
Affiliation(s): Galactic Protectorate
Skills: Military Arts
Voiced By: Jon Alaskey

In the 21st century, a nobody was accidentally frozen for over 300 years. He was later revived by Dr. I.Q. Hi of the Galactic Protectorate in the 24th and one half century. He managed to con everyone into thinking he was a famous 21st century hero.

In reality, he was only a water-boy for a football team and was considered cowardly, lazy, selfish, easily fooled, and idiotic. But as Captain Duck Dodgers, he displayed remarkable feats of heroism. This is mostly attributed to luck and his Eager Young Space Cadet.

After a mixup at the Big Shot Dry Cleaners, Dodgers received Hal Jordan's Green Lantern costume and power ring. After putting the ring on, he toured the Protectorate and tried to reinact heroic deeds. Instead, Dodgers incited an angry mob. Luckily, a distress call automatically teleported him to Oa, homeworld of the Green Lantern Corps. During a battle with Attack Droids, Dodgers saved a Guardian. The surviving Lanterns suspected him as a spy but Ganthet, the Guardian, vouched for him.

Dodgers was then volunteered to hide in a makeshift Attack Droid and infiltrate Sinestro's base ahead of them. Dodgers had the task of lowering the base's defenses without getting killed. He was soon discovered and brought before Sinestro. As part of a plan to stall for time, Dodgers quickly agreed to join Sinestro and caught him offguard. While discussing his terms, Kilowog, Katma Tui, and Ch'p were able to enter the base freely. Sinestro was angered by Dodgers' demands and moved to kill him but Dodgers revived the captured Green Lanterns. Together, the Lanterns defeated Sinestro. Hal Jordan arrived soon after and the two switched clothes. Dodgers was left stranded at the base until the Protectorate rescued him.
