The Green Element is a crystal that is the greatest energy source in the universe. Only the Guardians of the Universe know of its origins. They installed it into their Green Battery and used it to power their Green Lantern Corps Power Rings. The Green Element has one vulnerability, the color yellow. It is the one part of the light spectrum that can resist the green.
Sinestro briefly rendered the Green Element inert with a direct, concentrated blast from the Yellow Battery. Hal Jordan managed to chip away some of the yellow radiation and recharged his power ring beyond the usual capacity. Since then, the Element was restored to normal working order.
