Oliver Queen is an orphan and heir to his late parents' manufacturing empire. While on a lavish cruise, Queen lived up to his playboy billionaire image. Queen was knocked overboard and found himself marooned on Starfish Island. In order to survive, Queen rigged a crude version of a bow and arrow. Eventually, Queen was rescued and he returned to his life in Star City. However, Queen found himself restless. Queen became a vigilante and donned a Robin Hood costume from a party.
Realizing how corrupt his city was, Queen became Green Arrow and fought crime and stood up for who he calls the "little people." Queen has a mastery over archery and has exceptional strength and stamina for a normal human. Green Arrow has an array of arrows at his disposal that contain anything from nets, explosives or a blunt boxing glove to knock out crooks with. Some time later, Green Arrow encountered a young boy who he nicknamed "Speedy." Oliver Queen later adopted him and together they were the crime fighting duo, Green Arrow and Speedy. Years later, Speedy parted ways with Green Arrow in order to strike out on his own.
Currently, Green Arrow is a member of the Justice League of America and even has several teammates on his call list: Dinah Lance, Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Wally West, and Diana Prince. He can also access the Justice League database through his touch screen cell phone. While waiting for Black Canary's flight to land at Star City International Airport, Queen sighted Merlyn and quickly changed into his costume within his hybrid car. Green Arrow arrived near Terminal 5 and saved Princess Perdita, the first time he saved royalty. Green Arrow's arch-enemy, Merlyn, began to attack, shot Arrow in the right knee, and forced the target back into the terminal. After Green Arrow slipped down the Service Chute 67AQ-480, the two archers challenged each other to one arrow duel, to which Green Arrow won after losing the last eight. However, Merlyn's client, Count Vertigo arrived and proceeded to kill both Green Arrow and Perdita. Luckily, Arrow was saved by Black Canary. He then proposed marriage to her and she accepted.
