Located in the center of Gotham City, the Narrows serve as slums. It is most dangerous and dilapidated portion of the city and home to Gotham's downtrodden. Frequent criminal activity goes on unchecked here. In reality, the Narrows is an island connected to Gotham via the Narrowsborough Bridge. It also serves as home to Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. After the Asylum lost its inmates, the Narrows was evacuated and quarantined and only police with proper identification and cause are allowed entry to the Narrows.
