Joseph is an abusive drunk in Gotham City. In a drunken stupor, he accussed his wife of not loving him, sneaking around behind his back, and giving his wages to her lazy sisters. She denied it only to be hit. She tried pleading with him but Joseph began to force himself on her. Kirk Langstrom, transformed into a pseudo vampire by his cure for cancer, interrupted and fed on Joseph. To his astonishment, the wife stabbed him in the back with a kitchen knife. Langstrom spared her and contemplated on the nature of his first victim. Maybe his first victim was a good man once and she hoped she could redeem him.
