Hal Jordan was assigned to pilot the B-2 stealth bomber that would fire a nuclear warhead upon Metropolis to kill Brainiac and save the eastern seaboard. Considering the notion of sacrificing millions of lives in process, Jordan asked for forgiveness from a higher power and armed the warhead. Superman landed on the bomber and scratched a message asking for five minutes. Jordan understood and gave him a thumb's up. Superman flew to the city and stopped Brainiac.
