Howard Barrison is a former member of the Hairies, a group of young idealists who lived on a commune called the Farm in the 1960s. He went on to become a very successful man in San Francisco and owned a firm worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Batman found him and pulled him from his office one night. Barrison denied knowing what the Hairies was so Batman dropped him. Batman swooped down, caught him, and demanded the information he wanted or he'd rip Barrison's throat out. Batman apologized for snapping at him but still wanted to know everthing he knew about Jackson Alpert and Doctor Psycho.
