Planet NWZ is a news agency based in Metropolis. Streaming news live on their website, the Planet's top reporter is Lois Lane. Lane was among the reporters that gathered outside the Metropolis Central Station for a comment from Superman after he took down the Chaos Society. When the Forever People began to form their own "fiefdoms" around the world, Lane tried to expose them for what they were but Planet NWZ's reach was not far enough. Lane was in her office at Planet NWZ during the Zurich incident involving Imperiex and the mind controlled Justice League. She watched the carnage on television while simultaneously checking uploaded cell phone videos, emails from Zurich, and Twitter feeds. After Imperiex's defeat and execution, Lane covered the fourth day of Justice League protests outside the White House. At some point later, Lane filed a report live near Weisinger Square on the emergency evacuation of Metropolis in response to Brainiac, a government project meant to keep Superman in check and whose powers were overloading.

Lane reported on the Justice League's raid of a terrorist organization occupying a bunker under Metropolis' Kasnian embassy. She estimated at least 50 dead in the so-called "virtual house of horrors" and posed another rhetorical question about the other terrorist organization, the Justice League. Two days after Silas Stone's visit to the Tower of Justice, Lane spoke to White House press secretary Pete Ross over the phone at her office. She wanted a comment on the murders of Victor Fries, Ray Palmer, and Silas Stone, who all happened to work for President Waller, and Steve Trevor's investigation. She was interrupted when Superman appeared outside her window. Lane allowed him inside as co-workers gathered outside her office. He revealed Stone was working for him at the Tower then invited her to be the first reporter to go inside. Lane declined a lift from Superman and drove from Planet NWZ to the Tower. Two days later, Lane filed another report about the forensic evidence incriminating the Justice League in the scientist murders. The next day, Lane and a Planet NWZ news team arrived outside the Tower to cover the showdown betwwen the League and the government. A week later, Lane filed a report on the ongoing clean up efforts and admitted to readjusting her opinion of the Justice League after they saved the planet at a terrible risk to themselves.
