At some point after the formation of the Justice League, Dr. Lex Luthor completed construction of a space ship utilizing Kryptonian science he learned about through the ship Superman came to on Earth when he was conceived decades prior. It was launched and maintained an orbit near Earth and the Moon. Luthor moved into the ship and essentially went into seclusion. He dedicated the rest of his life to using the ship to accumulate knowledge and map the entire universe. After nearly all the other scientists associated with Project Fair Play were murdered, Superman flew to Luthor's ship for answers. Luthor told him about the project and admitted to stealing the files from his ship. Luthor then played the full recording of the events of Krypton's last moments. Once Superman left, Magnus' Superdroid boomed into the ship and blew it up. Luthor managed to boom away at the last moment.
