Dr. Karen Beecher kept a mansion in the country outside Gotham City. Two nights after the murder of Silas Stone, Beecher organized a gathering of all the other scientists, associated with the government's Project Fair Play, at her mansion. Beecher, Thaddeus Sivana, Will and Tina Magnus, Emil Hamilton, John Henry Irons, Stephen Shin, Michael Holt, Pat Dugan, Kimiyo Hoshi, and T.O. Morrow discussed what to do next so the Justice League wouldn't kill them next. Irons proposed they go public and take the heat off them. Magnus' three killer droids boomed to the front of the mansion and attacked the scientists. Batman happened to be eavesdropping on the scientists' meeting and tried to stop the Batdroid. Superman and Wonder Woman arrived later to provide support but it was too late. All the scientists were murdered. Superman realized Will Magnus was still but barely alive.
