The Farm is a commune located a hundred miles north of New York City. It served as a haven for young idealists led by Guitar Joe and Doctor Psycho. In reality, the Farm was half-a-dozen dilapidated structures and struggling vegetable gardens. In May 1967, Bekka accepted an invitation to come to The Farm. She found peace there but soon began to suspect Doctor Psycho's work. When Bekka began using crystals made by Mother Box to show that consciousness-expansion was possible without drugs, a divide began to form between those that followed her and those that followed Guitar Joe. Bekka eventually discovered Psycho was locking up burned out volunteers for his experiments in a basement. Bekka did not agree to Psycho's vision of freeing people and evolving them into gods. He exposed her to one of his elixirs and she experienced the fused ruins of New Genesis and Apokolips. Suzie Sunshine was able to help Bekka break from the hallucination. The Farm soon fell apart. A large group of people joined Bekka and left to start a new commune. A smaller group, turned against her, stayed with Guitar Joe and Doctor Psycho. Psycho moved his lab and test subjects to a cave.
