Orion had the finest swordsmith on Apokolips forge a sword as a wedding gift for his soon-to-be wife, Bekka. While the sword is virtually indestructible, the more unique feature is that Orion had a Mother Box installed in the sword's pommel. On the night before their wedding, Orion gave the sword to Bekka. He asked that she keep it by her side always so that it could protect her when he could not. Her first act with the sword was knocking Highfather's staff away as he killed Orion. She then boomed away from Apokolips. Since then, Bekka was never without the sword.
Over the decades, she cut down many foes with it. In the final battle against Imperiex, the sword was summoned after Batman drained enough god-energy. Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman gripped the sword together. Their minds were channeled by the fragment of the Mother Box and their collective will was fused to the sword. They plunged the sword into Imperiex's chest, invading his psyche and and collapsing the walls of his consciousness in order to reverse his evolution. Imperiex was changed back to the elder Doctor Psycho. As he gloated he would evolve again, Wonder Woman chopped his head off then Superman incinerated his body with his heat vision. After the debut of the Justice League, the sword was dubbed the Wonder Sword and knock off toy versions were sold.
