The Nanite Bomb is the ultimate invention of Will Magnus. After murdering his wife Tina by accident and reflecting on the horrors of humanity, Magnus sought to truly change the world as Dr. Lex Luthor once implored him and his fellow graduates to do. He came up with a device to unify the human race into one mind. When the Nanite Bomb was set off, it would project over seven billion microscopic Boom Tubes around the world and plant a nanite into someone's head. In that instant, everyone would be connected as one. However, to power it, Magnus needed a strong energy source. The ship that brought Superman to Earth when he was an infant had that kind of energy. After a series of events culminated in sequence, Magnus got into the Tower of Justice and had his droids connect the Nanite Bomb to the ship. He then had Platinum activate the ship's core. Batman was unable to figure out how to shut down the bomb so Wonder Woman plunged her sword into the console. The bomb powered down but the ship's core destabilized. Superman lifted the ship into space and hurled it away before it detonated.
