Vykin is one of the wealthy who were the first to become one of Jackson Alpert's Forever People. After being upgraded, she took the name Vykin. Boasting the ability to turn into a shadow form, she also had the nickname of the Living Shadow. In this form, she could engulf a person like a psychic storm and call forth their darkest fears. At the Eternity Institute, Vykin dined with her bretheren, Alpert, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
During the battle on Bear's citadel, Vykin and Moonrider attacked Wonder Woman in tandem. Vykin turned into her shadow form and immobilized Wonder Woman. Superman blew Vykin away and Batman threw out Batarang's laced with an antidote to Alpert's Forever Formula. Vykin fell into a comatose state and was taken back to the Eternity Institute to be monitored and studied by an international task force.
