Sumo is one of the wealthy who were the first to become one of Jackson Alpert's Forever People. After being upgraded, he took the name Sumo. At the Eternity Institute, Sumo dined with his bretheren, Alpert, Superman, and Wonder Woman.
During the battle on Bear's citadel, Sumo attacked Wonder Woman and got her in a bear hug. He ordered her to surrender. She refused and stabbed Sumo in his eyes with the points in her helmet then neutralized him. Sumo was cured and was taken back to the Eternity Institute to be monitored and studied by an international task force.
