Based on the Green Lantern's rings, the Yellow Power Ring was forged by the Weaponers of Qward. Sinestro was the first to arm himself with the ring. Atrocitus predicted that Sinestro would unite the most vile and each would wear a Yellow Power Ring. The War of Light would follow.
Since the Green Power Ring has a built in imperfection, the Yellow version is considered more powerful. The only weakness of the ring is its user. Fear is most important in the generation of electromagnetic solid light constructs that act as defensive and offensive measures. In addition, the rings provide its user's flight, personal force fields, uniforms, energy scanning, language translation, recorders, storage, and communication. It also follows voice commands and can be summoned remotely. These features lead many to conclude that the ring is an advanced miniature computer. The power ring can hold a full charge for 24 hours then must be recharged by the Yellow Battery.
