Solomon Grundy is an enemy of Batman and said to be a zombie driven by greed who emerged from Gotham City's Slaughter Swamp. He doesn't seem to bothered by the stench he gives off. Grundy later joined the Joker Gang. While trolling Slaughter Swamp, Grundy discovered some Kryptonite -- a substance deadly to Superman. Joker tried to sell it to Lex Luthor but later traded it for the Lexporter 1.0. Grundy was later stationed in the swamp where the stolen Statue of Liberty was teleported to. He fought Aquaman but in the final pass, the Penguin Copter crashed right into him. He rose from the swamp with Penguin's hat and monocle and imitated his squawk. When Cyborg and Robin mounted a rescue operation to save the Super Friends, Grundy charged Robin and the Batbot. He was clobbered. Grundy later fought Hawkman and was knocked out. He was placed in Green Lantern's prison cell construct.
