Captain Cold is an enemy of the Flash and uses a gun that can emit cold blasts to freeze anything and anyone. Lex Luthor recruited Cold to join his Legion of Doom in place of an incarcerated Mr. Freeze. He was teamed up with Bane to put the Flash on ice amid frozen tundra stolen from the Arctic and placed somewhere in Gotham City. Cold searched for Flash on his Ice Cannon, but the speedster burrowed under the sled and knocked Cold over. Flash was taken by a Lexporter beam and imprisoned at the Hall of Doom. In the final showdown with the Super Friends, Cold opened fire on Cyborg and hit him but Cyborg's mech landed on Cold. Flash later ran so fast around Cold that his shots backfired and froze him. He was placed in Green Lantern's prison cell construct.
