Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun. It is named after the Roman god of war and nicknamed the "Red Planet" for its large concentration of iron oxide. Mars holds the record for the tallest mountain in the Solar System. Having similar features to Earth, Mars, however, is considered an inactive planet. That is far from the truth. The Ma'aleca'andrans settled on the planet and established a peaceful and advanced society. In modern times, their golden age was disrupted by a sub-race, the White Martians. The city was destroyed and every Green Martian was killed except for J'onn J'Onzz, who was teleported out of battle by Dr. Erdel on Earth. J'Onzz shared this event with a parallel Rose Wilson years later.
