Earth Prime is the first Earth. Once the human race evolved on this planet, an unseen unique event happened. Variations of Earths began to appear in an all-encompassing reality called the Multiverse. Over time, it became home to an infinite number of Earths and the first Earth hurtled out of its natural orbit. It decayed into a barren wasteland. It is unknown if man or nature were responsible for this. Regardless, every variation of Earth became balanced precariously on this Prime. Destroying it would destroy the entire Multiverse.
Once the Quantum Eigenstate Device was completed, Owlman locked in vibrational coordinates for Earth Prime at 52 97 77 and teleported himself and the bomb to Earth Prime. Johnny Quick unwittingly volunteered to vibrate himself at a precise speed to allow Batman to use his Transit Device to piggyback on Owlman's carrier wave and generate a portal to Earth Prime. Owlman and Batman had a battle of the minds and brawn before Batman gained the upper hand and teleported the villain and device to a frozen and uninhabited Earth. It appears that the significance of Earth Prime was reduced once Owlman arrived on it. The act of making a choice split Earth Prime off into at least one more multiverse, thus proving this Earth could never be destroyed through an act of free will.
