On Mars, the Ma'aleca'andrans settled and established a prosperous and advanced civilization. From what is known, they developed technology far superior from that of Earth and had a polytheistic religion that included the God of Life and Lord of Dreams, all below the Creator God.
The White Martians reconfigured their physiology to reflect their philosophy of aggression. They now appeared angular, had chalky white skin, and protruded bony ridges to give the appearance of a suit of armor. They quickly garnered a reputation as savage warriors and incited a civil war against the Green Martians. During a battle, one of the great Green Martian warriors, J'onn J'Onzz was teleported away. Ultimately, the White Martians were responsible for the genocide of J'Onzz' race.
