In search of unlimited power, a man encountered an insane monk named Volthoom. He gave the man a magical lamp and power ring. After accepting it, he became Power Ring. Some time later, he became one of the six family heads of the Crime Syndicate. His top lieutenant is Olympia and one of his rackets appears to be in illegal substances.
Power Ring is equal in power to his parallel counterpart, Green Lantern, and both project green spectrum energy. However, Power Ring wears a gauntlet over his right hand rather than simple ring and fashions his costume like a general's armor. He is one of the three surviving heads of the Crime Syndicate and surrendered to a unit of Marine Corps led by President Wilson.
