J'edd J'arkus is one of the six family heads in the Crime Syndicate. He is a parallel version of J'onn J'Onzz, the Martian Manhunter. Both share a Martian heritage but J'arkus is evil and has four arms instead of two. His Made Men included Angelique, Breakdance, Gypsy Woman, Extruded Man, and Vamp.
While investigating a break-in, J'arkus was killed by the Jester, who sacrificed himself to allow Alexander Luthor enough time to escape, with a high explosive. Since J'arkus' Made Men lacked any managerial talent, Owlman absorbed most of them into his family before they could break away. While some family heads protested, Ultraman consented to Owlman's actions and moved to delay a decision to replace J'arkus or what to do with his territory, despite Superwoman's logical proposal to evenly redistribute among the five remaining family heads.
