Dr. Aisla MacPherson is a tenured professor at Terrebone University and the world's leading scholar on Themyscira. In 2022, after Circe showed Amanda Waller an apocalyptic vision of the United States of America under attack by Pokolistan, she called in MacPherson for a consult. MacPherson believed her research pointed to Circe being legitimately clairvoyant and on Themyscira, it was taken as fact. Flag sarcastically noted they were taking Themsycira as fact. Economos chimed in they knew it was real place. Flag was still skeptical. MacPherson shared the fact that Circe warned her fellow Amazons 10 years ago of a tsunami that was going to kill thousands but not all the islanders took refuge inland. A major tsunami hit Themsycira within an hour of what Circe predicted and those who took refuge survived. She admitted since that event, Circe's talents had fallen more often on the less altruistic side. Waller asked her why she thought showing the vision was altruistic of her. MacPherson pointed out she didn't have the power to imagine futures so whatever she shared had to be genuine.
Flag wasn't buying it. Waller ordered Flag to gather the Commandos and head back to Pokolistan to kill Princess Ilana. Flag was irate. Waller explained MacPherson was a tenured professor at Terrebone University and the world's leading scholar on Themyscira. Flag added it was a place where no outsider ever set foot on because anyone who tried was killed. Waller asked him why he was wasting time. Flag asked if Circe was clairvoyant, how she didn't see Weasel would beat the crud out of her or Phosphorus burning her face off. MacPherson revealed clairvoyants didn't control what bits of the future they saw. Flag found that convenient. She watched as Flag and Waller butted heads over what to do next. In an attempt to discredit MacPherson to save her own life, Princess Ilana hired Clayface to take her place. MacPherson was murdered in her own home and died after her throat was slit by a blade from her collection. Clayface took her place in public.
The next day, Clayface, as Dr. Aisla MacPherson, showed up at her course on Themsycira and acted out of character to the point of flirting with a buxom student. He complimented her top then asked what her three favorite things about Themsycira were. He sat on the empty desk next to and parted her hair. The student listed the ancient sculptures of Antigone. He pretended to be bored and yawned. She mentioned the recently unearthed poetry of Opolonia. He pretended to be asleep then walked back to the chalkboard and brought up "the lesbians" to the class's shock. Eric Frankenstein and Rick Flag Sr. observed from outside the lecture hall through a window. Flag wanted to search MacPherson's home and find out the truth. Flag came upon the real MacPherson's body upstairs but Clayface returned and they barely defeated him. Amanda Waller and John Economos later found her body.
