By the 2010s, an inactive G.I. Robot ended up in a military memorabilia store in Hub City. Justin, the owner, presented it to Sam Fitzgibbon. Justin reckoned it would bring a certain je ne sais quoi to any military collection. Fitzgibbon purchased G.I. Robot and took him home. He introduced him to his pet cats Angus, Socks, Clarabelle, Morty, Simon, and Lizzy. After pouring some gasoline down his mouth, Fitzgibbon successfully activated G.I. Robot. He stood at attention and asked Fitzgibbon for his name and rank. He happily gave it but revealed he had no rank on account of his leg preventing him from enlisting. They repeatedly saluted each other to Fitzgibbon's delight. He showed off his military collection then they watched "The Dirty Dozen." Fitzgibbon thought it was nice to have a family. Some time later, he put some winter-proof clothing on G.I. just in case then they drove to a meeting of the Hub City National Socialists Club. Fitzgibbon told G.I. they were friends who were interested in a better country like them.

Fitzgibbon introduced G.I. to Billy, believing he would be helpful to their cause. Billy was glad to have a metal fist in the fight for what's right. G.I. slowly became suspicious upon observing certain tattoos and dress worn by some members. Billy took to the podium and officially started the meeting. Behind him was giant swastika imagery. G.I. Robot was delighted to in a room of Nazis. He shot Fitzgibbon then opened fire on the club members. He found Billy hiding behind the podium and killed him. G.I. Robot was arrested and stood trial as he met the state's current definition of "man." He was charged with killing 32 people. The jury found him guilty of second-degree murder.
