Circe is a rogue Amazoninan and reputed sorceress. She claims to be the rightful heir to the throne of the all-female island nation of Themyscira. On June 10 of an undisclosed year, she was arrested and booked by the Metropolis Police Department. She later approached a batallion of right-wing men known as the Sons of Themyscira and promised them that once the downfall of Pokolistan was achieved, she would lead them to conquer Themyscira. In 2022, they violently crossed the border into Pokolistan. On the night Task Force M arrived, Tanner, one of the Sons of Themyscira, spied on the Bride of Frankenstein and Nina Mazursky entering Frankenstein Manor and informed another Son over his walkie talkie. Circe overheard the conversation and ordered him to get the address. She ate then used telekinesis to levitate her drink then crushed it after she was done, to their delight. At the manor, Circe levitated outside a window and unleashed a blast of energy at Bride and Mazursky.
As Mazursky came to, Circe prepared to blast her. Bride tackled her out of the way. Circe powered up again. Bride threw the bed at her. Surrounded, Bride stomped the floor. She and Mazursky fell down a floor and took off. One of the Sons went through the roof and sailed past Circe. Circe opened fire as Bride ran with Mazursky under her arm. She jumped through a window and used one of the Sons as a landing pad. She took his gun and mowed down the rest of the Sons present. Mazursky was irritated she opened fire without warning. Bride pushed her aside and shot at Circe. Circe turned the bullets into butterflies. She told Mazursky to run then was blasted into the grill of a truck. She threw the truck at Circe. Circe sliced it in half but it was just a feint, and Bride sailed through the opening and punched her back into the manor. They exchanged blows in the laboratory. Circe prepared to kill her but Bride grabbed a shard of glass and jammed it through her leg, kicked her crotch, then tackled her outside onto a balcony. Bride pummeled Circe but she managed to turn her arms into useless inflatables. She dealt several blows and a headbutt to Bride then pushed her off the balcony to the remaining Sons below.
Circe and the Sons immobilized the two then took off for the undefended Poko Castle. Some time later, the Creature Commandos returned. G.I. Robot took to the sky and mowed down the Sons but got blown to pieces by Circe from behind then flew towards Princess Ilana's bedroom window. Circe blasted the window and Ilana was thrown. Circe floated in and used telekinesis to throw Ilana into her armoire. Ilana begged her to stop and in exchange she would give her whatever she wanted. Circe revealed she wanted her dead. Weasel suddenly ran into the room and tackled her out of the castle while biting her viciously. After the hard landing, she tried in vain to crawl away as Weasel slashed her, bashed her head, then tore into her back. Phosphorus remarked he loved a good barbecue then burned her face. Flag was aghast as she screamed. Bride reckoned he wanted monsters, so he got monsters. The defeated Circe claimed the Commandos had doomed the world. She was restrained and flown to Belle Reve Correctional Center.
Circe was taken to an interrogation room vowing to make the guards feel pain they never knew existed. The two guards forced her to sit. Circe promised to kill their whole family. Waller told them to leave her be. Circe spat at them. Waller introduced herself. Circe stated she had no right to keep her imprisoned and asked what the charges were. Waller replied they were first degree witchie-poo and Maleficent in the second degree. Economos added Bette Midler in that one movie in the third degree. Waller told him that was an actress, not a character's name. Flag pointed out he was talking about "Hocus Pocus" and Waller repeated he didn't say her character's name. Circe vowed to kill her. Waller noted she can't cast spells as long as her hands are restrained so she was just another redheaded waif in an inappropriately revealing outfit. Circe told her to go to hell. Waller wondered why all the supervillains need to be sexed up all the time. She asked Economos if he liked that. He admitted he sort of did but thought it was a little thirsty.
Waller told Circe she was in the middle of an international incident and asked her what she was doing in Pokolistan. Circe replied she was trying to save their worthless lives. Flag was skeptical on account she tried to kill the Commandos. Waller pressed on. Circe explained she was trying to kill Princess Ilana Rostovic to save the world. Flag didn't believe her. Waller pointed out her "resume" didn't back up the Glinda the Good Witch routine, namely the murder and assault charges. Circe contended even the devil doesn't want to see the world dying. Waller asked why they should believe her. Circe revealed she could show her the future then asked if she wanted to see it or stay a pig in the slop of her own ignorance. Waller asked how. Circe told her if she wanted to see it, to join her. Flag thought she was full of it. Economos checked her file and noted she was possibly clairvoyant. Waller asked which one that was again and thought it was mind reading. Economos replied it was seeing the future. Economos believed she might be able to get into her head even with her hands restrained. Flag advised Waller not to do it.
Waller went into the same room as Circe. Waller saw an apocalyptic vision of Princess Ilana, with scars on her face, clad in armor addressing her Amethyst Knights while having an armored gorilla at her side. Metropolis was bombed, civilians were massacred, and various heroes and vigilantes were impaled on stakes. Waller fell to her knees and panted in shock. Tears flowed down Circe's face. Waller consulted with Dr. Aisla MacPherson, the leading scholar on Themyscira, and decided to assign the Creature Commandos to assassinate Princess Ilana.
