August 17, 2021: Catwoman: Hunted movie announced. It stars Elizabeth Gillies as Catwoman, Stephanie Beatriz as Batwoman, and Jonathan Banks as Black Mask. The rest of the cast includes Steve Blum as Solomon Grundy, Lauren Cohan as Julia Pennyworth, Keith David as Tobias Whale, Zehra Fazal as Talia al Ghul and Nosferata, Jonathan Frakes as King Faraday and Boss Moxie, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Kelly Hu as Cheshire, Andrew Kishino as Mr. Yakuza and Domino 6, Eric Lopez as Domino 1, Jacqueline Obradors as La Dama, and Ron Yuan as Doctor Tzin. It is produced in an anime style. The story revolves around Catwoman attempting to steal a priceless jewel but the heist puts her squarely in the crosshairs of both a powerful consortium of villains and the ever-resourceful Interpol as well as Batwoman. Shinsuke Terasawa is the director, Greg Weisman is the screenwriter, Ethan Spaulding and Colin A.B.V. Lewis are producers, and Sam Register executive produces. Gillies was always a fan of Michelle Pfeiffer's take on Catwoman, was drawn to the script because it explored a different side of Catwoman, wasn't aware of how stylized or anime-influenced it was until her second or third recording session but found it very cool, notes the noir film score, added "a little Mae West," used Pfeiffer as a jumping off point then put her own stamp on the voice, spends most of the movie poking and prodding Batwoman to try and get a rise out of her, in a 2 or 3 hour session the last hour would be just action cues, was offered the role around April 2020, and she already completed her work on it when the title was officially announced.
