Mr. Becker is the attorney for Cassie Kendall's trust. After she was kidnapped, a ransom demand of two hundred million dollars was sent to Becker. With no other choice, he wired the amount into the kidnappers' account. He then went to the Gotham City Police Department and met with Commissioner Gordon. Gordon then hailed Batman on his comms. Batman found it odd an adult still received money from a trust fund. Becker explained the nature of the trust because of Kendall's impetuous tendencies and her late parents wanted to make sure she had an ample albeit fixed income to last the rest of her life. Batman told him to delay the ransom but he admitted to already paying. Batman asked where she was currently. Becker revealed he received no word from the kidnappers since.
