The Penguin is never without his regal umbrella. It is in fact a concealed weapon. Most often, it hides a motorized propeller blade to give him the gift of flight and to escape a theft quickly. It is much like Batman's utility belt in that it has just about every implement you can think of; poison gas, blade, rotor blade, blow torch, tommy gun, and electrical taser. In the battle against Ra's al Ghul's zombie Talons, Penguin used his umbrella's flame thrower option.
