Ubu is the loyal servant of Ra's al Ghul in modern times. After Bruce Wayne was tricked into meeting with Ra's al Ghul near a Wayne Caribbean island resort, Talia al Ghul, Ubu and another servant were present for his arrival inside a submarine. Bruce Wayne got dressed in a Bruno Cucinello picked out for him. He thought Talia had some to collect him but it was Ubu. Ubu led him to the dinner. He and the other servant attended to the al Ghuls and Wayne. Ubu later presented a sample of Gaia Grain when Ra's made his latest offer to Wayne, a cure for world hunger. Ubu accompanied Ra's to the Batcave after he learned Wayne was back as Batman. Tim Drake offered Ubu a microwave bean 'n' cheese burrito. In the final battle below Gotham, Ubu blocked Batman's path to Ra's. Batman noted he was as powerful as he remembered but also still as slow. He kicked Ubu off the stairwell.
