Jeffrey Ross Lifschultz was born in September 13, 1965 in Springfield, New Jersey. He graduated from Boston University's College of Communication. Ross became an insult comic and garnered a reputation as the "meanest man in comedy," heir apparent to Buddy Hackett and Rodney Dangerfield. Ross later became the Roastmaster General at the New York Friars Club.
A group of supervillains kidnapped Ross and forced him at gunpoint to participate in their roast of Batman. While Ross entertained the crowd, Batman got loose. Ross then stopped Joker from escaping and knocked him unconscious. Batman assured him he should stick to comedy.
