Qward is a barren planet with a mix of urban and rural populaces. The Qwardian captial is adorned with a giant skyscraper-like building that serves as the chambers of the culture's leader. Taken over by the Weaponers, Qward suffered in an age of oppression. The resistance sent a message to Earth where it was picked up by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters. They, Batman, and Plastic Man flew to Qward where their ship was instantly attacked by planetary defenses. The Earth heroes managed to liberate Qward, thanks to a little patriotism.
