In the 20th century, Superman created a secret headquarters in the Arctic amid an isolated mountain range. To ensure no one could enter, the giant Gold Key to the Fortress required enhanced strength to carry it for miles, then lift it to the doorway, and use it. The Fortress holds several items confiscated by Superman over the years, such as the Bottle City of Kandor, and some of his hobbies, as well. It is the current home of Krypto the Super Dog and Batman is privy to its location. Cheetah was once teleported into the Fortress using an advanced tracking device to find and defeat Superman.
