The Lasso of Truth forged by the god, Hephaestus from the Golden Girdle of Gaea and given to Queen Hippolyta, of the Amazons, by the goddess Hestia after she empowered it with fire. It is said that Eros sent it from Mount Olympus. In any case, the lasso was designed to bypass the untrustworthy nature of man. Any man who comes in contact with it is compelled to tell the truth. It is unbreakable.
Hippolyta would later hand down the Lasso to Diana when she became the representative that would escort Steve Trevor back to the outside world. As Wonder Woman, the Lasso of Truth was her main choice of offense and defense.
