The Energy Grid Cage is a special holding cell designed to hold even super-powered individuals. Based on a standard four sided grid, four projectors hover above the cage's four corners and create an impenetrable force field. The Gas Gang imprisoned the Metal Men and Batman in it. However, Batman deduced that an electromagnetic pulse would grant them their freedom. He took the dioxide battery from his scanner and touched it to Iron. The combination of the battery's powerful electrical charge and iron generated the pulse and destroyed the Energy Grid Cage.
