The Cloak of Nefertiti is a two-sided cloak believed to have been a gift from the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet to Nefertiti, chief consort of Pharaoh Akhenaten in 12th century BC. It was rumored that the cloak gives each who wears it nine lives, like a cat. While on loan to a museum in Gotham City, the Cloak became a target of both Catwoman and Two-Face. Two-Face didn't believe in the legend and only sought to aution it off to the highest bidder in Gotham's criminal underworld.
When Two-Face escaped capture with the Cloak, Catwoman offered to help Batman, Black Canary, and Huntress. The Cloak was to be auctioned at a top secret summit at the Double Decker Club. While trying to sell it for $22 million, Two-Face was betrayed by one of the mobsters. In the confusion, Batman, disguised as Matches Malone, was hit in the head with a sandbag. He believed he was Malone and took the Cloak for himself. Now as the Invincible Mob Boss, Malone survived daring thefts, took over the criminal underworld, and sent super villains fleeing. Two-Face began to believe the legend and wanted to take the Cloak for himself. Catwoman killed Malone and restored Batman by tossing him off the top of the Iceberg Lounge. She got away with the Cloak.
