Catwoman's weapons of choice are a series of whips including a Cat-O'-Nine-Tails. It is a multi-tailed whip with origins in 17th century England as a form of punishment. It is composed of nine knotted thongs of cotton cord, about 2.5 feet, and is designed to lacerate the skin and inflict intense pain.
